What is White Hat 100 Club?
White Hat’s are the good guys. Coming together to help protect vulnerable young people, we raise money to support the work of Barnardo’s. Many of us are information security professionals who, making our living through advancing technology and cyber, recognise the growing threat to children and teenagers. Online and always connected, youngsters are increasingly being bullied, groomed, abused and sexually exploitated.
We are compelled to help. Giving something back, to protect and improve the lives of the vulnerable and victims, the concept of the 100 Club is that individuals and corporates can become members (for a minimum annual donation of £100 and £1000 respectively) and together raise funds that make a real difference, securing a brighter future for many.
Event fee membership donations and fundraising
Membership donations are collected during enrolment via Virgin Money Giving (VMG) as “event fees” when each member (individual or entity) creates a “membership” giving page through our VMG listing. A member wishing to offer a higher joining fee, or to subscribe to enhanced Club services, may donate additional funds through their giving page.
Through personal, corporate or group events, individual and group challenges are encouraged to generate further funds for Barnardo’s. Online membership and challenge donations are collected only through VMG. All giving pages must be created via our VMG listings, see below, to ensure funds go directly to the correct areas within Barnardo’s.
Where individual members take part in personal challenges they should fundraise through their own “membership” giving page, as listed on their membership profile. Sign-up as a member then create your membership giving page to complete your profile.
Where members (or non-member supporters) wish to organise a group challenge event, with individuals working together to participate collaboratively in fundraising, donations can be collected and tracked centrally through a “challenge” giving page.
Donations raised through a group challenge VMG page are not attributable to an individual member (private or corporate), however, the VMG site does have a concept of teams, so individuals can come together as a team if desired.
Virgin Money Giving
All giving pages must be created through our VMG membership or challenge listings. Both can also be found on VMG by searching for “white hat 100” and filtering by “events”. Click “start fundraising” to create a giving page then copy the page URL into your membership profile or challenge event page as appropriate.
Membership
Annual membership subscription packs for single individuals or sponsoring entities are available.
